Courtains&ruffles

And as promised in last post, here is the result of my labors!

E come promesso nel post precedente ,ecco il risultato delle mie fatiche!

Simple white curtains Ikea lengthened and revisited with the addition of ruffles,

obtained from the same fabric, taken from another courtain

semplici tende bianche dell'Ikea allungate e rivisitate con l'aggiunta di balze,

ottenute dalla identica stoffa, presa da un'altra tenda

The initial idea was to put 5 ruffles in each courtain, so I had prepared a lot,
but then my daughter prefered only three, and I satisfied her

l'idea iniziale era di mettere 5 balze in ogni tenda, quindi ne avevo preparate tante,
ma poi mia figlia ne ha preferite solo tre, e l'ho accontentata

at the end result has satisfied both

(and also hubby who, as a man, is not a big fan of ruffles)

alla fine il risultato ha soddisfatto tutte e due

(e pure il maritino, che, in quanto uomo, non è un gran fan delle balze)

So I advanced a few ruffles
with which I'll sew another pair of curtains, and with the remaining ruffles...

I have in mind another small little project ... 

mi sono avanzate alcune balze
con cui farò un'altra coppia di tende uguali e con le rimanenti...

ho già in mente un altro piccolo progettino...

Home with a bad cold and fever.

I'm not able to do nothing all day so...

Since a long time I have to do a very long work, so why not now?

A casa con influenza e febbre.

Non sono proprio capace di stare ferma senza far niente tutto il giorno così...

Da un sacco di tempo dovevo fare un lungo lavoro, perchè non farlo ora?

And so I decided how to

I needed a lot of ruffles...

TONS of ruffles! I adore them (my family a little less ...)

E così ho deciso come fare

Avevo bisogno di balze, un sacco...

chilometri di balze! Le amo (la mia famiglia un po' meno...)

Our actual home's ceiling is is much higher than the normal

so I had to stretch out all our old curtains.

Guess what? I have devised a system to extend them that I was really satisfied

Il soffitto della nostra nuova casa è molto più alto del normale

e ho dovuto allungare tutte le nostre vecchie tende.

E come? Ho ideato un sistema per allungarle che mi ha proprio soddisfatta.

Cut and sew, sew and cut... I made so many ruffles

I just stitched seams that I had to do to add the length

Taglia e cuci, cuci e taglia... Ho fatto un sacco di balze

che ho posizionato proprio sulle cuciture che avevo dovuto fare

per aggiungere della lunghezza

Baby boy's bedroom ideas

While renovation of our new house and are quickly advancing,

I'm looking for inspiration for our little one's bedroom

Mentre stanno velocemente avanzando i lavori di sistemazione della nuova casa, 

sto cercando qualche ispirazione per la futura camera del nostro piccolino

The room will be not huge, but I think it will OK for him:

the room that is now much larger, and when we arrived here 

he often say, "Mom I'm afraid of my room",

surely his own way of saying that he felt uncomfortable in all that space

La camera non sarà certo enorme, ma credo che gli andrà benissimo:

la stanza che ha ora è ben più ampia, e quando siamo arrivati qua spesso diceva 

"mamma ho paura della mia camera"

un modo tutto suo per dire che si sentiva a disagio, un po' perso, in tutto quello spazio.

The palette I chose is my favorite one: pale blue, cream, sand

perhaps a bit classic but I think warm and fresh, suitable for a child's room

La palette che ho scelto è la mia preferita: azzurro, crema, sabbia

forse un po' classica ma secondo me accogliente e fresca, adatta per la cameretta di un bimbo

It will have some vintage detail,
Avrà qualche dettaglio vintage,

and little pictures with simple designs, will have a space suitable for all his beloved teddy

e quadretti con disegni semplici, avrà uno spazio adatto per tutti i suoi adorati peluche

It will be the corner of his dream, plays and freedom.

Sarà il suo angolino di sogno, giochi e libertà.

A very hot climate, a beautiful garden, full of local stone, 

class details, generous and tolerant plants.

Un clima decisamente caldo, per un giardino stupendo, colmo di pietra locale, 

dettagli di classe, piante resistenti e generose.

I love the brightness of this light-colored stone, 

often used without mortar

Amo la luminosità di questa pietra chiara, 

spesso usata a secco

and the choice of colors, where the blue (that I adore) and grays 

are mixed in a refined palette  that gives a great sense of freshness.

e la scelta dei colori, dove i blu (che io amo moltissimo) si mescolano ai grigi

 in una raffinata palette che dona grande senso di freschezza.

It's since a time that I'm trying to change my life, to live more quietly

E' da qualche tempo che sto cercando di cambiare la mia vita, vivere più tranquillamente

tenere ritmi più lenti

I' like to find a few moments, and a little more, for things that are more valuable

 and make me feel good

create a new flower bed in the garden, 

chat with a friend for a long time without a shudder because time passes

Vorrei trovare qualche attimo, e un po' di più, per le cose che hanno più valore 

e mi fanno star bene

creare una nuova aiuola nel giardino, 

chiacchierare a lungo con un amico senza fremere perchè il tempo passa

But it is really difficult.

When life has a certain setting, and there are many things to do,

so many things that we are asked.

Ma è davvero difficile.

Quando la vita ha una certa impostazione, e sono tante le cose da fare, 

tante le cose che ci vengono richieste.

Then the changes asked a long time, work and patience

Determination.

And above all confidence in us and trust in our project.

Allora i cambiamenti chiedono tempi lunghi, lavoro e pazienza

Determinazione.

E soprattutto fiducia in noi e nei nostri progetti.

 I began to  listening to the signals that were sent to me from my soul

 and - even - from my body, 

and finally I decided start to sow the seeds of this change

We live only one life, I'd like to be in love with mine.

Ho iniziato ad ascoltare i segnali che mi venivano mandati dalla mia anima

 e finalmente mi sono decisa a seminare i semi di questo cambiamento

Viviamo una sola vita, della mia ne vorrei essere innamorata

Is in gray days like these that every now and then I take a look to the pictures I took in spring, 

to feed myself with color and warmth.

E' in giornate grigie come queste che ogni tanto riguardo le foto che ho scattato in primavera, 

così da potermi alimentare di colori e tepore.

These are some of the pictures I took last spring at the Giardini Margherita 

(the largest park in my town) that held every year the beautiful flair Terraces and Gardens

Queste sono una parte delle foto che ho scattato la scorsa primavera ai Giardini Margherita

(il parco più grande della mia città) in cui ogni anno si tiene la bellissima fiera terrazzi e giardini

I must say that this time there were very many exhibitors

who proposed  really beautiful ornaments and accessories.

proprio belli.
