Our new bedroom reveal

Dear friends,

who follows me for some time know that a year ago is begun 

the adventure of the renovation of our new home.

The adventure is not over yet, but I can finally start to show you some fruit of our labors!

Chi mi segue da tempo sa che da un anno è iniziata l'avventura della ristrutturazione 

della nostra nuova casa.

L'avventura non è ancora terminata, ma finalmente posso iniziare a farvi vedere 

qualche frutto delle nostre fatiche!

Today I invite you to take a stroll in our new bedroom.

Oggi vi invito a fare un giretto nella nostra nuova camera da letto.

Lot of furniture in our home are old furniture flea markets recovered, cleaned and repainted by us.

The headboard of our bed instead is an old door I found two summers ago on the street.

That door had a story to tell! How could I leave it there?

Molti mobili nella nostra casa sono vecchi mobili recuperati nei mercatini dell'usato,

ripuliti e riverniciati da noi.

La testata del nostro letto invece è una vecchia porta trovata due estati fa per strada.

Quella porta ne aveva di storia da raccontare! Come potevo lasciarla lì??

Ours is an old house that dates back to the '30s. 

The ceilings are so high that the curtains are tremendously normal court. So, to keep expenses down, I had to create your own. I stretched the simple tents Ikea, and the result is not bad, I would say, especially for me that I know of only sew straight lines! =)

La nostra è una vecchia casa, che risale agli anni '30. I soffitti sono così alti che le tende normali risultano tremendamente corte. Così, per contenere le spese,  ho dovuto crearne di personali. 

Ho allungato delle semplici tende Ikea, e il risultato non è male, direi, specie per me che so cucire solo delle righe dritte! =)

The corner cupboard that in the old house was in the living room, it's from Ikea, 

we revisited with a few hands of White Chalk Paint.

Il mobile d'angolo è quello che nella vecchia casa stava nel salotto, anche lui Ikea, da noi rivisitato con qualche mano di Chalk Paint bianca.

The rusty iron and linen roses wreath on the door is a gift from my dearest and refined friend Lelia, as well as the dummy door necklaces, William, 

so named by its creator Andrea, her husband.

La coroncina di ferro arrugginito e rose di lino sulla porta è un dono della mia cara e raffinatissima amica Lelia, così come il manichino porta collane, Guglielmo, così battezzato dal suo creatore Andrea, suo marito. Non sono bellissimi? Grazie amici cari!

Giardini&Terrazzi Flair 10-12 may

Dear friends, I remind you that next weeekend May 10 to 12, will be held in my home town - Bologna - in the park of Margherita Gardens the Flair Gardens & Terraces.

 Cari amici, vi ricordo che questo fine settimana, dal 10 al 12 maggio, si terrà nella mia città - Bologna - nel parco dei giardini Margherita la manifestazione Giardini & Terrazzi.

 It is a show full of charm, as well as showing some gardens created specifically for the Exposition, gathers every year more and more exhibitors with items for the exterior (and not only) and plants of all kinds, including our beloved roses but also the ancient fruits and much more.

Si tratta di una fiera piena di fascino che, oltre a mostrare alcuni giardini creati appositamente per l'esposizione, raccoglie ogni anno sempre più espositori di arredi ed oggetti per gli esterni (e non solo) e di piante di tutti i generi, comprese le nostre amatissime rose ma anche i frutti antichi e tanto altro ancora.

There is also a special section Vintage (my favorite, I admit it!), In which they present florists, carpenters and craftsmen who always fascinate me.

C'è inoltre una speciale sezione Vintage (la mia preferita, lo ammetto!), in cui espongono fioristi, mobilieri  ed artigiani che mi incantano sempre.

Melì-Melò (a long post)

Last Saturday was held in Ferrara market Melì-Melò, organized by Mara.

It 'was very pleasant opportunity to review her and Monica (the owner of the store that housed the initiative), and meet so many very talented crafter, some of them also bloggers who I knew only via the web.

I took a gazillion photos. Are you ready? Ok, sit and take a big cup of coffee.....

Sabato scorso a Ferrara si è tenuto il mercatino Melì-Melò, organizzato da Mara.

E' stata un'occasione piacevolissima di rivedere lei e Monica (proprietaria del negozio che ospitava l'iniziativa), e incontrare tante bravissime crafter, alcune delle quali anche blogger che però conoscevo solo via web.

Ho fatto un miliardo di foto. Siete pronte? Ok, prendetevi una bella tazza di caffè e mettetevi comode...

What about Mara? Her smile and her positivity shine through in everything she does, she is adorable, 

and it is no wonder that the initiative was a great success!

Che dire di Mara? Il suo sorriso e la sua positività traspaiono in ogni cosa che fa, 

è adorabile, e non c'è da stupirsi che l'iniziativa sia stata un bel successo!

The things exposed were delicious and - needless to say - I could not help 

but bring some home with me...

Le cose esposte erano deliziose e - manco a dirlo -  non ho potuto fare a meno di portarmene qualcuna a casa...

one of which is already on display at the door of my bedroom 

 ammirato le creazioni di ferro e tessuto dei cari amici Lelia e Andrea, una delle quali fa già bella mostra sulla porta della mia camera da letto (Leliù è una promessa, prima o poi passiamo dalle vostre parti!!!)

 along with William, the beautiful mannequin necklace holder so named by its creator.

It's been a really pleasant afternoon, to be repeated as soon as possible!

On the way back some beautiful corners of Ferrara have attracted our attention, 

and not only ... =)

E' stato un pomeriggio piacevolissimo, da ripetere al più presto!

Sulla via del ritorno alcuni angoli della splendida Ferrara hanno attratto la nostra attenzione, ma non solo quelli... =)
