Yesterday has been a little less hot than in recent days
so I could start to dedicate myself to one of my favourite jobs:

or better ... white wash everything!

e mi sono potuta dedicare ad uno dei miei lavori preferiti:

o meglio... pitturare di bianco ogni cosa !
I tried many recipes of home made chalk paint
and I found my favourite one:
4 parts of water satin enamel and 1 part of calcium carbonate (caco3)
(I found calcium carbonate (caco3) in chemistry for few euro)
You only have to mix them together

Ho provato diverse ricette di Chalk paint fatta in casa
e questa è quella che mi ha dato il migliore risultato:
4 parti di smalto all'acqua satinato e 1 parte di carbonato di calcio
(che ho trovato in farmacia per pochi euro)
Si devono solo mescolare bene insieme i due ingredienti

Così sono partita da un'orribile cornice
ho proseguito con un paio di mobiletti che avevo trovato in casa
ed ho iniziato a dipingere le PORTE!
I've read in many blogs that 2 coats are enough to cover
but I needed 3 coats
to achieve the result that I wanted

ma io ne ho dovute passare 3
per raggiungere il risultato che volevo
and it's TRUE! You don't really need to sand before painting!
paint sticks perfectly even on a semi.gloss surface !!

To paint doors I'm using a small roller:
it allows a very precise work, no lines, and fast

Ho ricevuto molte mail con richieste di qualche spiegazione sulla chalk paint, ecco qualche informazione in più:
La chalk paint è una pittura che ha la principale caratteristica di avere un aspetto opaco e gessoso.
E' inoltre facile da cartavetrare per ottenere un aspetto shabby.
La Chalk Paint è stata diffusa commercialmente da Annie Sloan
e i suoi prodotti si trovano anche in Italia. Nei blog se ne parla come di un prodotto di altissima qualità.
Nel web si trovano molte ricette per creare la chalk paint in casa.
(Qualsiasi misurino usiate è imporatante solo mantenere le proporzioni )
per eliminare tutti i grumi che si formano.
Tenete presente che la chalk paint asciuga molto rapidamente
quindi è preferibile procedere su superfici limitate.
Io ho ottenuto il risultato ottimale con 3 mani
(ad alcuni sono stati sufficienti 2 soli passaggi)

It has been released commercially by Annnie Sloan and all say it's a very high quality product.
Between the various recipes I found in web the best for me is this one:
4 parts of enamel satin water and 1 part of calcium carbonate (CaCO 3) powder
I use as a measuring a cup of yogurt.
To prepare the chalk paint you only have to add the powder of calcium carbonate
to the enamel, which can be any color, and mix well (even with an old kitchen blender)
to remove any lumps that form.
No need to add water
(if not a few drops in the paint that advanced, in the case has become too thick)
It is not necessary to sand the object to be colored
(if not in the case the surface needs)

La chalk paint è una pittura che ha la principale caratteristica di avere un aspetto opaco e gessoso.
E' inoltre facile da cartavetrare per ottenere un aspetto shabby.
La Chalk Paint è stata diffusa commercialmente da Annie Sloan
e i suoi prodotti si trovano anche in Italia. Nei blog se ne parla come di un prodotto di altissima qualità.
Nel web si trovano molte ricette per creare la chalk paint in casa.
Tra le varie, quella che mi ha dato il risultato migliore è quella con proporzioni 1 a 4
ovvero 4 parti di smalto satinato all'acqua e 1 parte di Carbonato di calcio (CaCo3) in polvere
Io uso come misurino un vasetto di yogurt.(Qualsiasi misurino usiate è imporatante solo mantenere le proporzioni )
Per preparare la chalk paint si deve solo unire la polvere di carbonato di calcio
allo smalto, che può essere di qualsiasi colore, e mescolare bene (anche con un vecchio frullino da cucina)per eliminare tutti i grumi che si formano.
Non è necessario aggiungere acqua
(se non qualche goccia nella pittura che vi è avanzata, nel caso sia diventata troppo spessa)
Non è necessario prima cartavetrare l'oggetto da colorare.
(se non nel caso in cui lo necessiti la superficie)Tenete presente che la chalk paint asciuga molto rapidamente
quindi è preferibile procedere su superfici limitate.
