Sometimes we don't need so much to embellish our home, isn't it?

Qualche fiore (qui dei lillà) e piccoli dettagli rosa possono cambiare il sapore di una stanza...

Delle volte non abbiamo bisogno di grandi cose per abbellire la casa, non è vero?

Chippy and gorgeous: if you look you can easy understand that furniture is from Ikea or something like that.

But they are mixed with a special lightness and fresh taste, for me...

A basso costo e bello: se guardate bene potete facilmente capire che si tratta di mobili e accessori di Ikea, o qualcosa di simile. Ma sono mescolati con una leggerezza speciale ed un gusto fresco, per me...

I like the idea to lay two different tablecloths one upon the other like this: the effect is so romantic and easy at the same time.

Dreaming of Spring

Hallo Everybody!

In these cold and grey winter days I'm dreaming of spring light, worm and soft colors.

So this time, following my desires, I blew in blogland and found some beautiful images I want share with you.

Cooking lesson # 2 - Ananas Cake

Hallo everybody!

I dedicate this post to my friend Barbara, who asked me a second easy to do cake recipe to try.

She always says she's not a good cook, but I always reply it's only a matter of recipes...

I have some INFALLIBLE recipes to give you, my friends.

Dedico questa ricetta alla mia amica Barbara, che mi ha chiesto una nuova ricetta semplice di torta da provare.

Lei dice sempre di non esere una buona cuoca, ma io le rispondo sempre che è solo una questione di ricette...

Ne ho qualcuna INFALLIBILE da darvi amici cari.

This is one of my loved Granny (she died, but I remember her everytime I cook something she taught me, and we did together, when I was a child)

Questa è una della mia nonna (lei non c'è più, ma la ricordo ogni volta che cucino qualcosa che lei mi aveva insegnato, e che avevamo fatto insieme, quando ero una bimba) 

 It's a cake not too much sweet (keep attention to the calorie!) and very easy to do

E' una torta non troppo dolce (attenzione alle calorie!) e molto facile

TORTA ALL'ANANAS (ANANS CAKE)

INGREDIENTI/INGREDIENTS

zucchero 250 gr, di cui 50 gr per la pasta e 200 per il caramello

ananas sciroppato 1 scatola

burro 100 gr

farina 150 gr

uova 3

lievito 1/2 bustina

mandorle o noci q.b.

tortiera antiaderente 24-26 cm di diametro (in pratica può andare bene anche una padella, ma privata del manico)

sugar 250 gr (50 for pastry and 200 for caramel)

1 canned syrup anana

100 gr butter

150 gr flour

3 eggs

1/2 baking powder

walnut (or almond) how many you like

a nonstick pan 24-26 cm diameter

PROCEDIMENTO/PROCEEDING

Unire i 50 gr di zucchero a tutti gli ingredienti, tenendo a parte l'ananas.

Put ingredients all together, except ananas and the 200 gr of sugar.

Fare caramellare lo zucchero restante (200 gr) nel tegame di cottura della torta, fino a che diventi dorato ma non troppo scuro.

Candy sugar (200 gr) in the cooking  pan: it has to become not too dark.

Disporre le fette di ananas sul caramello, inserire mandorle o noci nei fori dell'ananas, poi versare l'impasto, che deve essere cremoso al cucchiaio.

Put ananas over caramel, put almonds in the ananas holes (and every where you like ), then spill the paste, that has to be creamy.

Infornare per 30 minuti a 150° fino a che diventi dorato.

Cook for 30 min a 150°  until it becomes golden.

NOTA: la torta deve rimanere piuttosto bassa, e (IMPORTANTE!!) deve essere immediatamente capovolta appena terminata la cottura.

Note: cake has to remain low, and (IMPORTANT!!) it has to be immediately  turned upside down just cooking ends.

New Year's Resolutions

Hallo Darling Friends, Good New Year to everyone!

Have you decided yet what will be your New Year Resolutions?

Ciao cari amici, Buon Anno  a tutti!

Avete già deciso quali saranno i vostri propositi per il nuovo anno?

I did.

I thaught to what I've made last year.

I thaught how many things, between these I would have like to, I really achieve.

I wonder what really is important for me...

I realize  that I spend too much time to work (I had to, but...).

But also that I'm a very lucky woman, because of my wonderful family. 

Io sì.

Ho pensato a quel che ho fatto l'anno scorso.

Ho pensato a quante cose, tra quelle che avrei desiderato, ho davvero fatto.

Mi sono chiesta cosa è davvero importante per me...

Mi sono accorta di avere dedicato troppo tempo al lavoro (ho dovuto farlo, ma...)

Ma anche che sono una donna fortunata, per avere una famiglia così meravigliosa.

 This year I decided not to make too many resolutions, only few, but that I truly can achieve in this time.

So these are my resolutions:

Quest'anno ho deciso di non darmi troppi obiettivi, solo pochi, ma che possa davvero raggiungere in questo tempo.

1) Find a little time for myself

(and dedicate less time to the job)

Always running for my job, family, thinking to my two sons, organize homeworks... I forgot to think a little to myself, specially to my health: By this side my last year was not too easy...

1) trovare un po' di tempo per me stessa

(e dedicare meno tempo al lavoro)

Sempre di corsa per il lavoro, la famiglia, pensando ai figli, ad organizzare i lavori di casa ... ho dimenticato di pensare un po' a me stessa, specialmente alla mia salute: sotto questo aspetto l'anno trascorso non è stato troppo facile...

Only if you're right you can give something to the others!

Solo se si sta bene si può dare qualcosa agli altri!

2) Loose weight

Since I stopped smoking (and since I had my second and last son) I increase in weight too much.

I know it will be not easy, but I have to!! 

I'd like to see myself and apreciate what I see... 

2) Dimagrire

Da che ho smesso di fumare (ed ho avuto il mio secondo ed ultimo figlio) ho preso un po' tropo peso.

So che non sarà facile, ma devo proprio!!

Mi piacerebbe guardarmi ed apprezzare quel che vedo...

3) dedicate more time to friends and to those I love, first of all to my lovely husband.

Once I red an interview to some couples.

They were very old and still happy together.

All of them said that they always tried to find some time to do something together.

I think it's a very wise  advice!

3) Dedicare più tempo agli amici ed a quelli che amo, prima di tutto al mio caro maritino.

Una volta ho letto un'intervista a diverse coppie.

Erano vecchi, e ancora felici insieme.

Tutti dicevano di avere sempre cercato di trovare del tempo per fare delle cose insieme.

L'ho trovato un suggerimento molto saggio!

4) finish the thousand things I started to do (my bedroom makeover, read books, view films, paint my bedside table...)

4) Finire le migliaia di cose che ho lasciato incompiute (di risistemare la mia camera da letto, leggere libri, vedere la fine dei film, dipingere il mio comodino...)

5) Never stop to be kind with the others, trying to understand what there's  behind the appearance

5) Non smettere mai di essere gentile col prossimo, cercando di capire sempre cosa c'è dietro le apparenze

6) Never stop surprising seeing the beauty around me, laugh, enjoy!

6) Non smettere mai di sorprendermi nel vedere la bellezza che ho intorno, ridere, divertirmi!

Still Christmas days in my town

Hallo darling friends!

I'm still on holiday for few days, and the weather has been sunny these last couple of days.

So I went out of my home (even if it's very cold, at least for me...), and I couldn't resist to take some image of my beloved town and its shops ...

Sono ancora in ferioe per qualche giorno, e c'è stato sole in questi ultimi due giorni. Così sono uscita di casa (nonostante sia molto freddo, almeno per me...), e non ho potuto resistere a scattare qualche immagine della mia amata città e dei suoi negozi...

Christmas table... finally!!!

Darling friends, I invite you all to my Christmas table!

Virtually, of course, even if I'd like to have you really here with me...

Christmas is arriving and, my table is ready, at least! I can't believe it is! In these days so many things to do, too many, really!!!

I start letting you see the first idea I had:

many lights (I like lights!!), more flowers, and an old white lace tablecloth to cover my old wood table.

Soooo romantic!

Cari amici, vi invito tutti alla mia tavola di Natale! Virtualmente, naturalmente, anche se mi piacerebbe avervi davvero con me... Natale è alle porte e la mia tavola, finalmente, è pronta! Non ci posso credere!! In questi giorni avevo così tante cose da fare, davvero troppe!!

Comincio facendovi vedere la prima idea che avevo avuto:

molte luci (mi piacciono!!) più fiori, ed una vecchia tovaglia di pizzo bianca per coprire il tavolo di legno.

Ho fatto io i segnaposto a forma di alberi di Natale e cucito i runner di iuta.

Poi ho iniziato a semplificare...

Partendo dai fiori...

Than I thaught that perhaps lights were too many, and I let only candles

Poi ho  pensato che luci forse erano troppe, ed ho lasciato solo le candele

 

At the end I wanted to see how the tablescape could be without the white lace tablecloth: sometimes I like to see the wood of the table.

Alla fine ero curiosa di vedere come sarebbe stata la mia tavola senza la tovaglia bianca: a volte è bello vedere il legno nudo del tavolo.

I removed some glass too...
