Paper Butterfly - Tutorial and pattern

An old frame recovered (here) some old's book page, some little wooden clothespin,

a piece of network hutch. 
And then web full of ideas to inspire,
 a little fantasy, a little poetry...

Una vecchia cornice recuperata (qui) qualche pagina di un vecchio libro, 

qualche piccola molletta da bucato in legno, un pezzetto di rete da conigliera.

E poi il web pieno di idee a cui ispirarsi,
un po' di fantasia, un po' di poesia...

 Le farfalle dello scorso post sono piaciute molto e in tante mi hanno chiesto come le ho fatte. 

Ecco un piccolo tutorial e un pattern fatto da me con immagini prese dal web

e dal mitico Graphics fairy

( come faremmo senza!)

Work is really easy to make, all you need are the pages of an old book. 

E' un lavoro veramente facile da realizzare, tutto quel che serve sono le pagine di un vecchio libro. 

If you have not you can print the pattern on normal paper that can be aged simply by wetting the paper with coffee and letting it dry.

Nel caso in cui non le aveste potete stampare il pattern su carta normale che poi potete invecchiare semplicemente inumidendo la carta col caffè e lasciandola asciugare bene.

 I don't use owen to dry, and I prefer first to print and then age paper

Io non la metto a seccare in forno e preferisco prima stampare e poi invecchiare la carta

When cutting the paper I did not follow precisely the edge, specially where the body is too thin

 Nel tagliare la carta non ho seguito precisamente il bordo, 

specialmente dove corpo e antenne della farfalla erano troppo sottili

 Many small clothespin to gently direct their flight

 Tante mollettine per dirigerne gentilmente il volo

 But I left this butterfly free to fly wherever she wants ...

Ma questa farfalla l'ho lasciata libera di volare dove vuole...

Butterfly love - a little poetry

That's what I need, I said long ago: a little more poetry.

 Ecco di cosa ho più bisogno, dicevo tempo fa: un po più di poesia.

Pew things are more poetic of them

Poche cose sono più poetiche di loro

So I printed some butterflies on the pages of an old book:  

to surround me with a bit poetry

Così ho stampato  delle farfalle su delle pagine di un vecchio libro:

per circondarmi di un po' di poesia 

 

They are intended for a small decorative project 

that I will show you in the next post

Sono destinate ad un piccolo progetto decorativo 

che vi mostrerò nel prossimo post

Waiting for the friends to come

A whole week without internet ... I seemed to live out of this world!
But now thankfully the problems seem resolved, and I'm here with you again, my darling friends.

Una intera settimana senza internet... mi è parso di vivere fuori dal mondo!
Ma ora per fortuna i problemi sembrano risolti, e sono ancora qua con voi, cari amici.

 On the positive side sometimes it is also good to take a short break from the blog, it is a chance to recover a bit of time and return to the occupations of all time, as receive friends, thing I love so much

Guardando al lato positivo  qualche volta è anche un bene prendere una breve pausa dal blog, è una occasione per riprendersi un po' di tempo e tornare alle occupazioni di sempre, 
come ricevere gli amici, cosa che mi piace un sacco

 I really love the moments of conviviality, and now that the house is almost finished  
and we even almost all the chairs that we need...

 Amo tantissimo i momenti di convivialità, e ora che la casa è quasi terminata
e abbiamo perfino quasi tutte le sedie che servono...

Our bathroom before and after

When the adventure of restructuring our house started, I started to dream

 to what I could do, how I transformed the rooms

 Quando è iniziata l'avventura della ristrutturazione della nostra casa ho iniziato a sognare

a cosa avrei potuto fare, a come avrei trasformato gli ambienti

 and dreams, you know, fly high, this is their nature

 I had talked about here and here

  e i sogni, si sa, volano alti, è questa la loro natura

 Ne avevo parlato qui e qui
 

Then you have to deal with reality, the limits that can not be overcome

 costs, structures, reinforced concrete ...

Poi si devono fare i conti con la realtà, ai limiti che non si possono superare 

 costi, strutture, cemento armato...

 This is our bathroom now, after a few tweaks, not having been able to change the structure

  Questo è il nostro bagno ora, dopo qualche piccola modifica, non avendone potuto cambiare la struttura

 via the orange tiles of the floor and the tile decoration on the walls, yellow walls,

 replaced by simple whites and grays, and ritual exchange of toilets

 via le mattonelle arancioni del pavimento e del decoro ai muri, i muri gialli,

 sostituiti da più semplici bianchi e grigi, e rituale cambio degli igienici

In family  not everyone agrees the gilded mirror,  
(a purchase of which I am proud of it! Last year at a thrift store that was closing, for € 60)

Hubby and daughter don't like it too much.

 I think instead that adds flavor to a room that otherwise might be a bit too rigorous.

In famiglia non siamo tutti d'accordo sullo specchio dorato,  
(un acquisto di cui vado fiera! Lo scorso anno in un negozio dell'usato che stava chiudendo, per 60 euro!)

Marito e figlia non lo amano troppo. Io invece penso che aggiunga sapore ad un ambiente che altrimenti forse sarebbe un po' troppo rigoroso.

I always thought, wrongly, that the topiary was only suitable for wide and formal spaces

First moment of happyness

I love the news, but in the end I find myself routine

amo le novità, ma alla fine mi scopro abitudinaria

perhaps also because of my job
 where nothing is ever certain
 and that makes me need to get closer to what is beautiful and gives me serenity

 forse anche per via del lavoro che faccio
 dove nulla è mai certo
 e che mi rende necessario avvicinarmi a ciò che è bello e mi dà serenità

I started to feel really mine my new home  

 when I picked up for the first time my garden's basil
I was inebriate with its wonderful scent

Ho iniziato a sentire davvero mia la nuova casa

quando ho raccolto per la prima volta il basilico nel mio giardino.
Mi sono inebriata col suo profumo 

ed ho provato il primo moto di felicità

and I tried the first motion of happiness
