Con lei condivido da anni chiacchiere e l'amore per il bello.

Nei giorni scorsi mi ha fatto visita, da tempo voleva vedere la nostra casa nuova

e il nostro B&B

E' stato un gran regalo averla qua!

I share with her from years chatter and love for beauty.

Since a long time she wanted to see our new home and our B&B

and last days she arrived!

Laces and projects

Eccomi, appena rientrata dalle vacanze, e sono qui che mi guardo intorno

e penso alle cose che vorrei cambiare, aggiungere, migliorare.

Back from vacation, and I'm here looking around and thinking of the things 
that I would change, add, improve.

Ho ritrovato nell'armadio immenso di mia madredei vecchi tessuti di lino e canapa
acquistati la scorsa estate

e lasciati a dimora da lei, mentre terminavo di mettere a posto la mia casa

 I have refound in my mother's huge closet old fabrics of flax and hemp 
I purchased last summer, and left her as long as I had a space in my home

Ora, arrivato il tempo, ho ritrovato gioielli piccoli e grandi,

lenzuola, presine, asciugamani monogrammati

vecchi, macchiati, ingialliti, ma per me bellissimi e commoventi

come le federe con ricamato sopra, per i novelli sposi "siate felici".

 Now, the time has come, I found sheets, potholders, towels monogrammed 
old, stained, yellowed, but for me, beautiful and moving
as pillowcases with embroidered for the newlyweds: "be happy."

Così  qualcuno di quei vecchi asciugamani ho pensato che potrebbe diventare 

un runner per il nostro tavolone rustico sotto la pergola.

Voi che ne pensate?

So I thought some of those old towels could become a runner  
for our rustic plank under the pergola.

Wonderful Friends (Riad Amanouz)

E' vero, quel che sempre mi sorprende di più sono le persone.
Posso vedere il paesaggio più mozzafiato, ma quel che mi riempie di più sono gli sguardi, 

i sorrisi, i piccoli gesti.

It is true, what always surprises me most are the people.
I can see the most breathtaking scenery, but what fills me most are the glances, 

the smiles, the little gestures.

 

Mai lo avrei pensato, in un luogo così sconosciuto e distante, ma si vede che era scritto,
per rendere quei giorni ancora più indimenticabili.

 I never would have thought, in a place so unknown and distant, but probably it was written,
to make those days even more memorable.

  Non credo al caso
credo che certi incontri siano scritti nelle stelle.
Questi di certo lo erano.

 

 I do not believe in fortuity
I believe that some meetings are written in the stars.
These certainly were.

Abbiamo condiviso cene, chiacchiere e risate
raccontato le nostre vite e ascoltato
guardato distese di rocce senza fine e toccato djambee

We shared dinners, chatter and laughter
told our lives and listened
watched endless expanses of rocks and touched djambee

 Questa volta lo dico con certezza: ci rivedremo, ne sono sicura!

 This time I say this with certainty: we'll meet again, I'm sure!
