I'm going to stay in my garden today, enjoy the birds,

and plant some new lavender bush. Smell divine!

Oggi resterò in giardino, a osservare gli uccelli che cercano cibo nella terra appena smossa,

Ellen's garden is beautiful: romantic, tidy but not tamed, authentic.

How not to remain conquered by it?

Il giardino di Ellen è bellissimo: romantico, curato ma non addomesticato, autentico. 

Come non rimanerne conquistati?

This garden gives me the opportunity to continue with a few suggestions

on garden's corners simple to create, but impressive.

Questo giardino mi offre lo spunto per continuare con qualche suggerimento 

su angoli di giardino semplici da creare, ma di effetto.

Ellen chose each plant carefully, aware of what she was going to plant,

or plants with an added value such as Columbine and Foxglove.

Ellen ha scelto ogni pianta con cura, consapevole di quel che andava a piantare, 

ovvero piante  con un valore aggiunto, come Aquilegia e Digitale.

 Foxglove and columbine are herbaceous perennials (I have already spoken of herbaceous perennials here) which have the particularity to love not sunny areas. 

If you plant away from direct sunlight they will give you abundant and long-lasting blooms.

Digitale e aquilegia sono erbacee perenni (ho già parlato delle erbacee perenni qui) che hanno la particolarità di amare le zone non soleggiate. Se piantate al riparo dal sole diretto vi regaleranno fioriture abbondanti e durature.

Foxglove is perfect to create, with its elongated shape, a point of interest, and of raising the border.

The columbine, in its high variety (there are also low) form gorgeous bushes, 

and has the characteristic of hybridizing with extreme ease.

La digitale è perfetta per creare, con la sua forma allungata, un punto di interesse, e di innalzamento della bordura.

L'aquilegia nella sua varietà alta (ne esistono anche di basse) forma cespugli splendidi, ed ha la caratteristica di ibridarsi con estrema facilità.

Sunday garden - Perennial's border for sunny garden

Especially here in Italy the perennial herbaceous plants have not yet spread they deserve

They have the great advantage of being plants that becomes more beautiful
and bigger every year, and have a low cost.

Specialmente da noi in Italia le piante erbacee perenni non hanno ancora la diffusione che meritano

Esse hanno il grande pregio di essere piante che diventano sempre più belle e grandi di anno in anno e di avere un basso costo.

Sunday garden - little dreamy corners

From today I inaugurated a small space 

dedicated to suggestions to make some corner of beauty

Da oggi inauguro un piccolo spazio 

dedicato ai suggerimenti per realizzare qualche angolo di bellezza

Nothing professional, just passion,  attempts and failures, which led me to understand something of the plants that I tried, and that I hope will be useful to some of you

Nulla di professionale, solo passione, tentativi e fallimenti, che mi hanno portata a capire qualcosa delle piante che ho provato, e che spero possa essere utile anche a qualcuno di voi

To create something like this the rules are few and not difficult:
pull plants with similar needs in water and light,  a simple color palette,
with a few harmonic colors repeated over and over again

Non trovate anche voi che  questa aiuola sia deliziosa?

Per creare qualcosa del genere le regole sono poche e non difficili: accostare piante con necessità idriche e di luce analoghe, una palette cromatica semplice, con pochi colori armonici 
ripetuti più volte

Sunday garden - outdoor

When I think about my ideal outdoor space I never imagin a perfect scene.

I imagin a sunny place, a table in the grass not sheared, a familiar and relaxed atmosphere

Quando penso al mio angolo di giardino ideale non immagino mai uno spazio perfetto

ma un luogo soleggiato, una tavola in mezzo all'erba non tagliata, un'atmosfera famigliare e rilassata

A place for the soul and not for appearance, surrounded by simple, everyday objects, how could I imagine the garden of the great-grandmother, at a time when there was neither running water, but nature went ahead the same

Un luogo dell'anima e non dell'apparenza, circondata da oggetti semplici e quotidiani, come potrei immaginare il giardino della bisnonna, in tempi in cui mancava pesino l'acqua corrente, ma la natura faceva il suo corso ugualmente.

I was immediately enraptured by the images of this garden

for its simplicity, for his being so authentically anchored to the ground.

Who wouldn't desire to stay a little sitting at this table,

in this corner of absolute peace?

per la sua semplicità, 

per questo suo essere così autenticamente ancorato alla terra.

 in questo angolo di pace assoluta?

the plants used are those that I love so much, typical of Provence

but also of some of our rural areas, where aromatic plants, olive trees and lavender
